Auckland based singer songwriter Donna Dean is the subject of award winning documentary film ‘The Sound of Her Guitar’ which premiered at a sold out screening in Wellington as part of the 2016 Docedge Film Festival. In November 2017 the film opened the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival in Canada (WAFF). Donna was Keynote speaker and performed live at the festival. One film critic called the film “brave and beautiful”, another labeled it “an understated and insightful documentary about a New Zealand artist and her remarkable life”. WAFF’s Director of Programming Jim Compton said Donna was New Zealand’s own Lucinda Williams.

Donna will be performing with backing band (The Pipi Pickers).
